GOALS
The special editions of the Resign Academy will be strongly characterized by the locations that will host them. For the first edition “Cascina Granbergo”, in Maddalena di Sassello, Colla 3, located in the natural reserve of Monte Beigua in Savona’s province, has been the choice for the “house- laboratory”.
The designers Giovanni Delvecchio, Andrea Magnani and Elisabetta Amatori (founders of the Resign “meta project”), will propose an inovative teaching, founded on the hand-crafted “know how” together with a series of direct lessons that will range from “contemporary mithology”, to new symbolism, and to “Design 2.0”.
The final goal of the academy of Sassello will be to realize, through the Resign methodology, a real project based on the material that will be supplied by the woods next to the farm. The students will then be invited to expose and sell their works during a permanent exhibition kept in the farm and the outback. They will manifacture at least one object each, and will keep complete property, (intellectual and material), of their own creations. The workshop is open to all, but particularly to design, art and comunication students, designers and architects.
HOW TO ENROLE
To participate send a request, and the Application Form, that can be downloaded from here, to info@resign, along with a CV and a photo and possibly a portfolio, before the 29th of August 2011. 13 canditates will be chosen to participate to the workshops and lessons that will be held at Sassello (SV). The price for the chosen partecipants will be of € 220,00, to which has to be added board and lodging expenses
DIDACTICS
The first special edition of the Resign Academy is structured in three levels.
1. The teachment will consist in analysing materials, idea labs, discussions and brainstorming. Everything finalized to stimulate first, and define later the design concepts.
2. The creative labs will be integrated by the technical labs, where the project will take life, solving any crafting issue.
3. The partecipants will continue their journey in the labs finishing their works.
The didactics have a “on field” formation model and a au pair relationship between the teachers and the partecipants. The classes will take place predominantly in the outdoor labs, but head-on lessons and evening encounters will be scheduled.
ACCOMODATION
It is mandatory for all the students to stay at the Cascina Granbergo at a advantageous all inclusive daily price of €30,00.
